Threshold DAS are recruiting for the exciting new Dal i Godi PERIPATETIC Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) Service covering Llanelli

About the Dal i Godi IDVA Service

Dal i Godi which was commissioned by Dyfed-Powys Police and Crime Commissioner, along with the four Local Authorities within the Dyfed-Powys region, (Carmarthenshire County Council, Ceredigion County Council, Pembrokeshire County Council and Powys County Council) will provide an IDVA Service to victims of domestic abuse who are assessed as high risk in accordance with the recognised Safe Lives Domestic Abuse, Stalking and Harassment (DASH) risk assessment.

The service will address the safety of victims at high risk of harm from intimate partners, ex-partners, or family members to secure their safety and the safety of their children. In providing a service to adult victims, every care will be taken to ensure appropriate advice and referral is provided to safeguard any dependent children. Serving as a victim’s primary point of contact, the IDVAs will work with their service users from the point of crisis to assess the level of risk, discuss the range of suitable options and develop safety plans.

The service will be accessible to individuals who have reported domestic abuse and currently reside in the Dyfed Powys area, or who are relocating to this area from elsewhere or who are reporting domestic abuse to agencies within this area. Opening hours for the IDVA service will be Mon-Fri 9am-5pm with duty IDVA cover each weekday evening between 5-10 pm ( this is approximately one day in 15) . Duty IDVA cover will also be available Saturdays & Sundays 9am-3pm.

About you

Applicants will need to be qualified to NVQ level 3 (IDVA) or above in a relevant discipline relating to the post. You will demonstrate the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide range of people, including adults, children and young people who are vulnerable and distressed as a result of their experiences. A proven experience of working directly with individuals of domestic abuse and violence, managing, and prioritising a large caseload, reviewing progress against outcomes will be expected.

About the role

Please note we are looking for an individual with a IDVA qualification.

You will join a highly motivated team of Independent Domestic Violence Advocates, working in one of Wales leading Domestic Abuse Specialist Organisations.

Within the IDVA role you will be required to address the safety of high-risk victims of domestic abuse from intimate partners, ex-partners, or their family and manage a caseload of adult male and female victims, actively providing short to medium term support, to promote long term recovery from the impact of domestic violence and abuse.

You will work with colleagues and other identified organisations, to promote co-ordinated support and will accomplish clear and measurable, improvements by reducing the risk of escalation, the severity, or the cessation of the incidents of abuse.

You will be responsible for attending and participating in Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) to discuss how to help victims who are high risk of serious harm and to implement all relevant actions from the initial meeting to reduce the risk of significant harm. justice process.

Salary: £23,000 pa - £25,641 pro rata for part time depending on experience/IDVA qualification.

This role will require an enhanced DBS check pus a full clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
