Housekeeper

We are recruiting a part-time Housekeeping staff member to help look after our tenants and our beautiful Grade ll Listed building.

Stricklandgate House Trust is a charitable trust that provides serviced accommodation to charitable and voluntary organisations in Kendal and the local area. We currently have 15 charities occupying our building. We also have counselling, meeting, and conference rooms for hire.

As Housekeeper, you will create a clean and safe environment for our tenant charities and will be part of an environment which has a strong emphasis on teamwork, where staff and volunteers take great pride in our Grade II listed building and supporting our tenant charities.

You will be responsible for cleaning all areas of the building. Working alongside the housekeeping team, you will follow and promote our high standards of cleanliness and help to maintain the safety of service users, staff, and visitors at all times.

We are seeking a responsible, hardworking and trustworthy individual, who is self motivated and has a keen eye for detail. Previous cleaning experience would be an advantage, though full training will be provided. The role includes cleaning office space, setting out meeting rooms and occasionally providing hot drinks for meetings. There will also be a requirement to respond to any fire alarms should they occur (full training will be provided) and to ensure the building is locked up and secure at the end of each day.

The normal shift pattern amounts to 12 hours per week over three evenings, however flexibility will be required to provide cover and work overtime when needed.

Should you wish to apply for this position please do so by sending us a covering letter detailing why you would like to work here and your suitability for the role, along with a copy of your CV.
